210418 What I learned in my studies this morning
My haiku are coarse,
Unpolished. Crafted for me.
An exercise of mind.
Intellectual
Puzzles to stimulate the
Soul, nothing profound.
From The Daily Stoic:
It's about controlling my thoughts. Everything points to that — Stoicism, the Bhagavad-Gita, Zen, Christian philosophy . . . even contemporary psychology.
Stoicism, rather than emphasizing elimination of thought (Zen) or subjugation of thought to a higher power (Hinduism and Christianity) or even discovering root causes (psychology), focuses on discerning what is under my control and what is not under my control.
Still not an easy task.

Bhagavad-Gita As It Is by Swami Prabhupada, 2.72
