210801 What I learned in my studies this morning

Up late /up early
Doing all the things I should.
We'll, except sleeping.

Daily Stoic:

I need to accept the world as it really is. That doesn't mean I can't work to change things. It means instead that I must be honest with myself about how the world is right now.

If I pretend a situation is other than it is, I will misunderstand what I need to do in the situation to accomplish my aims.

It's about honesty, not complacency.

Today's Meditation:

From A Calendar of Wisdom by Leo Tolstoy

From Letters from a Stoic by Seneca Letter XVI:

Natural wants have an end. Those born of opinions and fashions do not.

I was never bad about this one, but I know that I'm doing better now than I was before. Still a long way to go, though.

Buddhism here I come!
