Tao Te Ching, 38, Gia-fu Feng and Jane English
Ritual substitutes for justice. Follow the rules.
Justice replaces kindness. Obey the laws.
Kindness stands in for goodness. Be nice.
Goodness supplants Tao. Be moral.
Tao alone is enough in itself.
