260801 What I learned in my studies this morning 6
Today's Last Night's Meditation:
My journey last night involved a lot of realizations.
- I can be truly happy even when I don't indulge my vices.
- People of all abilities strain against their limitations and it's wonderful and worthy.
- Look for expression and talent and art everywhere.
- I can appreciate things better when I actively try, when I deliberately put my expectations, assumptions, and biases aside.
- I need to be better about what I eat. And it's possible without deprivation.
- I need to exercise more.
- My wife deserves better from me: better attention, better care, more respect.
- I have friends I need to reconnect with.
- I need to stop intoxicating myself so much. The occasional beer or bowl is one thing. Daily, and in quantity, is too much.
- I need to examine my assumptions about people more often and more seriously.
- Seeing others as fully human is important. Sonder is something to understand better.
- People are more capable of amazing things than I give them credit for.
- I need to be more accepting.
- Philosophy really is a life changing practice.
