Today's Meditation(s):

The Pocket Thich Nhat Hanh (ed. by Melvin McLeod), Hide and Seek

Stoic(-adjacent), if different in origin.

Why not grieve lost loved ones? I've lost a son and a father.

One thing the Stoics teach me is that my loved one is only loaned to me for a short time. None of us are eternal. All subject to accident. I knew this going in.

And this helps me remember that I need to love as best as I can now.

Thich Nhat Hanh reminds me that what is important about my loved ones is their ultimate form, their other, nonhistorical being, that truly matters and which may come again if I am perceptive enough to see it.

I'm still not sure about the soul aspects of the dynamic here. Lemme think on it.
